M.O.I. Hq – Vip Building & Public Building – Wadi Al Sail

Working side by side with WCT Berhad Malaysia and CEG Partners, GDP positions provided a catering design, consultancy and equipment procurement service and for the catering facilities within the new headquarters building for the Ministry HQ in Wadi al Sail in Doha.
goal
This new massive premises of over 250,000 sq. mt building complex has a variety of service requirements in respect to catering ranging from periodic service to meeting and conference rooms, service to VVIP visitors, daily service to 5500 general staff and to senior staff (who are offered a different meal service). In addition, allowance needed to be made for those times when a large formal function would be held in the atrium and adjacent spaces. Each of the service areas are on different floors.
Layout Principales
GDP designed and planned following the approved operational flow that was developed based on of 2 Central kitchens in each builng (the Main and Public Building0. Furthermore we developed additional nr. 8 F&B outlets, finishing kitchens, service pantries and laundry located throughout the entire premises, as well as, a Central Laundry.
Kitchens
GDP planned for food to be prepared on site from the central kitchens, generally using fresh ingredients. Food is also delivered freshly prepared, hot or cold according to the menu item, within food carts to each of the service areas and where finishing kitchens are allowed. Prepared ingredients will be delivered to the finishing kitchen for final cooking and assembly to the customer’s requirements.
Hotel Restaurant and Cafes
Service to general staff is in the form of a Café facility, offering a range of hot and cold snack offers that will usually be eaten by hand rather than a knife and fork. This facility incorporates the principle of known brand coffee shop outlets and a branded coffee offer is envisaged.
